Spinning Wheel - Out of Balance
Kristen is an executive for a mid-size business with a thriving clientèle, and she wants more. She has a husband with a 9 – 5 job and a young son requiring child care. She has expanded her efforts into an entrepreneurial project to build a stronger future for her family, with whom she rarely spends quality time. Her husband and son miss the family time now invested in other things; and truth be told, Kristen misses it too.
As a result of the additional workload, she begins to lose her enthusiastic approach to life. Her clients and her family notice the change. Simple decisions about child care, school, vacation, and when to shop for groceries become difficult. Bigger decisions about relocating her new business are stressful. Kristen has reached a point where challenges cast big shadows over opportunities. Her focus is misdirected as she begins to take on the unattractive characteristics of victimhood. She needs help.
If it was medical, she would have addressed it immediately. But what to do? "It’s only her attitude”. Her core beliefs have been compromised. Her activity is not in alignment with her dreams and values.
Balance is a key element of success. Living in alignment with ones core values is how we define ourselves. So being out of balance, and out of alignment simultaneously is exhausting and stressful. It drains the magic from your life. Good news; help is only one horizon away at any given time.
Kristen hired a Magis Thinking coach. She shared her issues and concerns in the first meeting, and then it was agreed that all remaining sessions would be about building a path toward specific outcomes. They worked through the Magis steps of Discovery, Vision Building, Assessing the Current Reality, Mindsets to Milestones, and finally a road map.
The map, on paper, leads to her vision of the future for work, family, community, spirituality, and lifestyle. She knows that if she does these things, opportunities will reveal themselves along the way. The process included one 90 minute meeting per week for 8 weeks, and some homework each week. Little by little the vision was built and a plan was formed. And step by step it is achievable. Key decisions were made impacting balance and alignment.
Today, Kristen’s life is simpler. She is happy and her family is thriving, as is her company. We all go through times where we need to refocus our efforts and align ourselves with what we really want most. In these times of instant gratification, seeing our efforts materialize over the long haul isn’t the trend. Patience isn’t always in grand supply.
Magis helps you achieve more without giving up what is important.
